While the Toyota Corolla Cross is already a hit on the Canadian market, we are eagerly awaiting its hybrid version, which is expected to arrive in dealerships this summer. In the meantime, the Japanese automaker has decided to reveal more about its small hybrid SUV, including its price range.
• A total power output of 196 horsepower • Average fuel consumption of 5.6L/100km • Two versions available: SE and XSE
For the time being, the Toyota Corolla Cross will be offered in 2 versions, SE and XSE. In the case of the former, the starting price is $33,985 and the estimated total price is $37,546. As for the XSE version, the base price is $36,755, and the estimated vehicle price is $40,316. If the manufacturer is talking about an estimate for the total price, it's simply because the transportation and preparation fees for the model have not yet been calculated. In any case, the price range of the 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid remains very competitive, and it is certainly expected to be among the most popular models in its category.
SE - $33,985 XSE - $36,755
The SE version offers an 8-inch touchscreen, 17-inch alloy wheels, and heated front seats as standard. Not to mention that this version benefits from suspension specifically designed to give it a sporty driving experience. As for the equipment of the XSE version, it includes 18-inch wheels, LED exterior lighting, and dual-zone air conditioning. Not to mention its 7-inch multifunction screen.
An Impressive Technical Sheet
Hybrid vehicles are sometimes underestimated, and the 2023 Corolla Cross is the perfect example. The Japanese automaker's small SUV comes standard with all-wheel drive, making it more capable than many of its competitors. As for the powertrain, the 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid offers a combination of a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and 2 electric motors for a total output of 196 horsepower. This allows it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds. Even though this performance is not very impressive on paper, I promise you that the Corolla Cross Hybrid will still be fun to drive. However, when it comes to fuel efficiency, there is something to be said as the small Japanese SUV boasts an average of 5.6L/100km.
Lots of Technology
Toyota has gone all out for its small hybrid SUV, which benefits from the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 technology suite as standard. We're talking about features like lane departure alert, dynamic radar cruise control, sign recognition, lane departure warning, and more. Elsewhere, these are the kind of technologies that are only available with the most expensive versions or for a small additional cost in most cases. So, it's nice to see that Toyota has chosen to offer it as standard on the 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid.
It's Coming Soon!
If you're interested in the 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid, it will be available at Canadian dealerships starting in June 2023.
