While winning awards is nothing new for Toyota they have certainly started 2016 with a bang by taking home a flood of accolades. This innovative company was recently announced the winner of a staggering 6 Canadian Black Book (CBB) Retained Value Awards as well as 6 ALG Residual Value Awards, a haul that not only dwarfed their competition but reconfirmed Toyota’s standing as Canada’s top auto manufacturer. Here we will look at this latest round of recognition as well as the Toyota vehicles that were named winners.

Canadian Black Book (CBB) Retained Value Awards
This widely respected award looks at a vehicle’s ability to retain its value over a four year period and therefore the 2016 awards reflect the performance of 2012 models. One winner is named in each vehicle class and the award goes to the vehicle that retained the highest percentage of their initial MSRP value.

ALG Residual Value Awards
The ALG Residual Value Award is highly regarded throughout the auto industry, with only one winner named per vehicle class each year. It takes into account a vehicle’s quality, durability and desirability and looks at which vehicles will be most likely to retain their value over the next 36 months.
The following Toyota vehicles were named winners.

Toyota Tundra
In the full sized pick up category the Tundra continues to turn heads for all the right reasons, taking home the CBB award for the seventh straight year. The Tundra was also named the ALG award winner for the seventh year running.

Toyota Tacoma
In the small sized pick up category the Tacoma yet again proved it is head and shoulders above the rest. For the seventh successive time it was named the CBB award winner and it also took out the ALG award for the sixth year in a row.

Toyota Sequoia
This full size SUV continues to exceed expectations at every turn, being named the CBB award winner for the seventh consecutive year. The Sequoia also took home the ALG award for the fourth straight time.

Toyota Prius v
There are few accolades that this incredible vehicle doesn’t own and it has just added two more to its already impressive collection. The Prius took out the CBB award in the compact car class and was also named the ALG winner in the alternative fuel vehicle category.

Toyota FJ Cruiser
Those looking for a quality mid-size SUV would be wise to consider this amazing vehicle as it was recently named a CBB award winner for an incredible sixth straight time.

Toyota 4Runner
In the off-road utility category the 4Runner has long been viewed as a standout option. The ALG has reconfirmed this status by naming the 4Runner its Residual Value Award winner for the second year running.

Lexus GX
The Toyota manufactured Lexus is widely regarded for its quality, luxury and all-round performance. The ALG certainly agrees as it just named the Lexus GX their award winner for the second straight year in the premium mid-sized utility category.

Toyota Camry
There seems to be nothing that the Camry can’t do, making it no surprise to see it continue to take out awards each and every year. Its latest recognition comes thanks to the CBB Retained Value Award for the mid-size car category.
